Inspiration

Sometimes I think
my poems write themselves
and all I am
is the bridge
between the inspiration
and the paper.
The poems that flow the best,
reach the deepest,
and cause the biggest effect,
weren't written when I wanted or expected them to be written.
They weren't forced.
Inspiration runs on it's own time it seems
and when I let it come when it comes,
that's when I write the best
It's kinda difficult to describe
This concept of inspiration
and what it does to me when I get it
when I relax and loosen up,
observe myself and the world around me
and then let the words fall to the paper
in their own design
When I enjoy it and it's not a job
When i give the lead to my heart
That's when I create true art
